tamilnaduportal.com is an independent civic platform. We take your privacy seriously and comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

3. OTP & Phone Number Usage
Your mobile number is used solely for identity verification via a one-time password (OTP). We do not use your phone number to send marketing messages, share it with advertisers, or disclose it to any third party except as required by law.
Phone numbers are stored in encrypted form by Supabase (our database provider). We do not store the raw OTP.
4. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.
- We do not run behavioural advertising.
- We do not share your phone number publicly.
- We do not use your data for political profiling.
5. Third-Party Services We Use
- Supabase (Singapore — AWS ap-southeast-1): Database, authentication, and file storage. Data is stored in Singapore. Supabase Privacy Policy
- Vercel: Web hosting and CDN. Vercel processes HTTP request metadata. Vercel Privacy Policy
Both providers maintain industry-standard security certifications. Neither provider has access to your content beyond what is technically necessary to deliver the service.
6. Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies (session authentication). We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. A session cookie is set when you log in and expires when your session ends or after 7 days of inactivity.
7. Your Rights
- Access: You can view all your submitted content from your dashboard.
- Correction: Update your profile details at any time.
- Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing grievance@tamilnaduportal.com with subject "Data Deletion Request". We will process within 30 days.
- Opt-out: You may remove your blood donor registration or deactivate job alerts at any time from within the Platform.
8. Data Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256 via Supabase). Access to the database is restricted to authenticated server-side operations. We never log or store raw OTP codes.
9. Children's Privacy
This Platform is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of material changes to this Privacy Policy via the Platform before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after notice constitutes acceptance.
